Special ferry service to Umanda for Shivaratri

GUWAHATI, Feb 17: As many as seven ferry services will be given between Kacharighat and Umanda Temple by Assam State Inland Water Transport (IWT) on February 24 and 25. Around 10,000 pilgrims visit the temple during Shivaratri every year. State IWT Director Bharat Bhushan Deva Choudhury said: “There’re will lifejackets, NDRF and SDRF personnel have been kept ready for the safety of devotees. On February 19, IWT will take a cleanliness drive at Kacharighat.”
