Special literary discussion held at Doomdooma Press Club

DOOMDOOMA: The current situation in Assam has brought great despair to litterateurs. This was stated by satirist and poet Puny Saikia while inaugurating the 'Special Literary Discussion Meet' organized by Tinsukia Zila Sahityasevi Mancha, a newly-formed literary body of the district, at Doomdooma Press Club on Sunday.

Poets and writers from various parts of the district recited their self-composed poems and read out essays which were reviewed by two reviewers - Sahitya Akademi award-winning dramatist Horen Borthakur and Bihu specialist Jaykanta Gandhia. The house bulletin of the Mancha Samayiki, brought out under the editorship of publication secretary Sunil Gohain, was released by working president Atul Chandra Sarmah. The meeting felicitated Punya Saikia, Sarifa Khatun Chaudhury and Sarat Chiring Phukan.
