Spectacles distributed among patients

Silchar, May 11: Itkhola Athletic Club distributed spectacles to patients suffering from low vision of the eye, here. The club, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Silchar, provided spectacles to 60 persons who have defect in their vision. The programme was held in the office of the Athletic Club.

The Athletic Club has selected the patients on the basis on an examition of their eyes on March 27, this year. Among others who were present on the occasion, include Benu Lal Barman, president, Silchar Rotary Club, S B Dutta, former assistant District governor, Rotary Club, D K Dutta, Joy Borodiya. Rotary Club of Silchar has always been helping the poor, needy person who does not have enough money to go for treatment.

Bijendra Prasad Singh, secretary, Itkhola Athletic Club, Anup Singh, president of the Athletic club and co-president, Dilip Kumar Singh and others were present to grace the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, S B Dutta and Benu Lal Barman assured that Rotary Club would always assist in every aspects of social development. They also requested the Athletic Club to come up with such other noble projects. Rotary Club has been arranging eye check-up sessions and curing various defects of the eye through treatments and operations.
