Spell out stand on Citizenship Amendment Bill: Congress to Bharatiya Janata Party

STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) senior spokesperson Durga Das Boro questioned the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding their current stand on the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) and asked them to come clean about it before the public.

At a press communiqué at Rajiv Bhawan on Saturday, Boro said, “Currently, the BJP has no political issue left and as such, they are misguiding the people of the state. The party has still not come clean regarding their stand on CAB which arouses suspicion about their true motives.” Boro dared the saffron party to clarify their stand on CAB at every election rally if they possessed the courage to do so and accused them of making false promises prior to every election.

Boro further condemned the assault on Lakhimpur constituency Congress candidate Anil Boragohain on Friday and alleged that the BJP party and its alliance partner Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) were involved in provoking the attack and sought for justice by asking to deal out exemplary punishment to them.
