Spinning machines distributed in Diphu

HOJAI, MAY 10: A meeting for ceremonial distribution of spinning machines by the Department of Sericulture was held on Saturday at the Resham Bhavan in Diphu in Karbi Anglong.

Addressing the meeting, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang said that a total of 1,000 vacant posts were there in 30 departments under Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and appointments would be made soon for the posts for which no SIU was required.

He said that bandh culture should be done away with in the district as work and development was hampered.

Around 1,000 spinning machines were distributed under HADP to SHGs. Distribution will be done in 26 MAC constituencies. Some select SGHs were given cash amounting to Rs 5,000 for silkworm rearing. Accessories like steel rack and trays were also given.

The CEM said KAAC would continue to carry out welfare schemes for which support from the masses was needed.

Aditya Gogoi, Superintendent, Bokajan division of Sericulture Department and Additiol Director, Sericulture, Robin Teron were also present.
