SPV yet to utilise Rs 20 cr

SHILLONG, March 11: Meghalaya’s Forest and Environment Minister Prestone Tynsong today said that the line department of the state government can utilise the amount deposited by the Lafarge Mining Pvt Ltd for developing infrastructures in the mining areas. Tynsong informed the House that the Lafarge Mining Pvt Ltd has already deposited Rs 101, 27, 14, 560 with the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) constituted by the State Government for developing the mining areas till date. The Forest and Environment Minister informed that out of it Rs 48.70 crore has been released to the SPV but Rs 20 crore is yet to be utilised.
