SSA recruitment unfair, alleges LSDU

FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

Itagar, May 3: The Longding District Students Union (LDSU) in a complaint forwarded to the Education Secretary has alleged that the recent recruitment conducted under SSA Mission in the district was unfair. Citing the official order issued from the office of the State Project Director (SPD) SSA Rajya Mission, LDSU has stated that the SPD had clearly notified the recruitment for 18 posts in the district under the SSA Mission but only seven posts were later made available and called in for a walk-in interview by an order dated April 10 last.

The posts for Coorditor (5), Accountant (1) and Peon (3) were not notified in the order issued from the District Project officer, informed the union through a press release.

LDSU has further raised questions on why the remaining eligible posts were not notified and recruited as per the SPD, SSA Rajya Mission order, the technical experts and Panchayat members not being included as board members during the walk-in-interview and the recruitment authority charging Rs. 100 from each candidate whereas no application forms were issued from the authority side for the walk-in’s.

The union also opposed the secret and unfair recruitment as there were complaints by many candidates that there was no CCTV video recording during the interview.

Furthermore the LDSU has demanded the immediate cancellation of the recruitment, fresh re-conduct of the recruitment calling for all the eligible post, recruitment, selection on merit basis through written and viva-voice and to use CCTV during the interview session and has intimated a democratic movement if the concerned authority fails to do so.
