SSA teachers' body submits resolutions to government

SHILLONG, April 26: The general meeting of the Meghalaya Sarva Sihsha Abhiyan School Association (MSSASA) held recently, has adopted a series of resolutions which was submitted to the state government.
The association resolved that all posts of Primary and Upper Primary under Sarva Shiksha Abhyan (SSA) under the Implementation Society of SSA, State Education Mission Authority Meghalaya (SSA-SEMAM) be shifted to the Education Department on a regular basis as per mandatory norms of SSA.
“Teachers working under SSA are regular posts and should have been created by all states including Meghalaya in the State Education Department with same salary, allowances and service conditions as of regular teachers,” the MSSASA stated.
The association requested the government to examine and comply July 26, with a definite clarity and transparency on the issue.
The meeting also resolved and decided that the state government should resolve the disparity of salary of the fourth teacher and the three teachers in Upper Primary SSA schools which should be at Par with the Pay structures of all the SSA teachers in the other states of the region.
The meeting also resolved and decided that the government should regularise all the existing appointed SSA Teachers and fully absorb by the Education Department and to immediately stop classification and determition for empanelling all school teachers in the state.
