SSB Director General visits sector headquarters in Assam

KOKRAJHAR, April 8: The Director General of the SSB, New Delhi, Banshi Dhar Sharma made a five-day visit to Tezpur Sector recently. He is accompanied by Anil Kumar Negi, Inspector General, Frontier headquarter, SSB Guwahati. This was informed by the Assistant Publicity Officer of the SSB sector headquarter M. Pumpkhan Khup.

On April 3 Sharma reached 30th Battalion headquarter, Dirang, Aruchal Pradesh and he was received by LK Gohain, Deputy Inspector General, Sector headquarter, SSB Tezpur, S.  utiyal, Commandant, 30th Bn, officers and jawans. On April 4 and April 5 he visited 38th Bn headquarter located at Tawang.

During his three-day stay at Dirang and Tawang he visited the high altitude Border Outpost (BOP) located near Indo-Bhutan border. He oversaw the deployment of SSB who are guarding the Indo-Bhutan border and also held a meeting with senior officers of SSB and reviewed the security scerio in the border. He also interacted with officers and jawans and exhorted them to work sincerely without any fear.  

On his way back to New Delhi, he visited SSB Training Centre, Salonibari on April 6 and was received by Tsering Dorjee, Deputy Inspector General, officers and jawans of the training centre. On April 7 he visited 62nd Bn headquarter, SSB, Debendragar and Sector Headquarter, SSB, Tezpur. At Tezpur he interacted with LK Gogain, Deputy Inspector General and SSB officers and reviewed the situation in the Indo-Bhutan border.
