SSB's helping hand for Nepal quake victims

From our Correspondent

MANGALDAI, May 5: The 37 battalion of SSB stationed in Mangaldai with its jurisdiction over the areas of Darrang and Udalguri district, undertook a drive to collect food items, ration, clothes, utensils and some necessary items from people for the earthquake victims of Nepal.

This initiative received overwhelming response from the people as they eagerly doted clothes, food and other commodities to the jawans of the SSB. It was heart touching to see that even children also came forward to dote at least a packet of biscuit or chocolates bought with their pocket money.  These articles are loaded in SSB trucks and dispatched for earthquake victims of Nepal on Monday.  Second in Command-cum-officiating Commandant of 37 Battalion of SSB Om Prakash took this initiative to express solidarity with the victims in the neighbouring country. Darrang Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar, Superintendent of Police Vivek Raj Singh and other officials of the SSB were present in the flagging off ceremony at the battalion headquarters.
