State level meet on Space Technology Application held

SHILLONG, April 22: The state meet on ‘Promoting Use of Space Technology Application in Governce and Development’ for Meghalaya was held in the city on Friday at main secretariat building.

Addressing the state meet as Chief Guest, Y Tsering IAS Addl. Chief Secretary to the government of Meghalaya said, “The main aim should be to ensure that we utilize all the technology available for governce and development in Meghalaya.” He said technology has also been extensively used in forest and environment department and in turn Meghalaya has benefited from it.

According to him, there is also a need to upgrade the existing technology and later put it to good use.

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary KS Kropha who had to attend a video conference meeting had to leave the programme mid-way, before leaving he said that he will look at the project areas and monitor at his level and urged the departments to take up the matter.
