State weightlifting meet begins today

GUWAHATI, Jan 1: The 43rd Assam State Inter District Weightlifting Championship will begin at Sivasagar from tomorrow. The meet was organised by the District Weightlifting Association , Sivasagar under the aegis of Assam Weightlifting Association and it will be held in junior and senior categories with weight groups of 56kg, 62kg, 69kg, 77kg, 85kg, 94kg, 105kg and above105 kg (for men), 48kg, 53kg, 58kg, 63kg, 69kg, 75kg and above 75kg (for women). Assam team for youth and Junior tiol Weightlifting Championship, scheduled to be held at Pat, will be selected from this championship.
