Step taken to protect residence of Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwala

Dibrugarh, June 5: With an aim to protect the residence of Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwala located amidst the Tamulbari Tea Estate here and to turn it into a historical site, a meeting was organized at the DC office on Monday. The meeting was attended by Lahoal MLA, Rituparna Baruah, DC Laya Madduri; acclaimed litterateur Dr. Nagen Saikia; noted film producer Charukamal Hazarika and officials of the Tamulbari Tea Estate. The discussions revolved around reconstructing the original residence of Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwala, and transforming it into a site of historical importance. Accordingly, to effectuate the plans, an advisory committee was formed, and a Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the State government and the garden officials.
