Steps taken to initiate development projects

Silchar, June 15: 9 National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) groups on behalf of Binnakandi Development Block were formed in Boromamda Village under Kaptanpur GP recently. The presidents, secretaries and members of all the groups are female and they would work independently towards achieving the goals of development and progress. Each of the group contains around 10 to 15 members. This initiative has been taken up by Kamali Sharma, block development officer, Binnakandi. She said that the success of the groups depends on its members and their workings. Joint account will be made in the name of the presidents and secretaries of each group.

The condition of the village is not so good. Locals have demanded for development of infrastructure and provisions of facilities related to road and transport communication, electricity, a sub centre under the health department and provision of potable drinking water. Hiralal Goala and Ananda Prakash Trivedi on behalf of the local people urged the authorities concerned to take concrete measures to solve these nagging issues at the earliest.
