Stop persol attacks on Engti, Congress warns BJP

HOWRAGHAT, Dec 26: Expressing her strong resentment over the allegations levelled by the BJP against State Minister Kharsing Engti, Premala Beypi, EM, KAAC suggested to the BJP on Saturday to fight politically instead of making persol attacks. Instead of spreading false propaganda of baseless allegations and corruption, the Opposition party should dare to fight legally, Beypi said.

“We are always ready and dare to accept the challenges of BJP. I am quite sure that there are no concrete evidences with our opponents and they can never produce black and white documents in support of the various allegations made by them,” Beypi said.

The Congress leader, while defending Engti, said, “We are implementing the developmental schemes formulated by the government for the people and not for our persol interest. Opposition should visit the sites of government scheme implementation for their information or persol attacks against Kharsing Engti should stop immediately,” Beypi said.  

She further said, “Issues of probity in public life are political issues and not persol issues.”  Serious allegations of corruption and land graft charges were levelled by the saffron party against HAD Minister Kharsing Engti recently in Karbi Anglong.
