Storm lashes Charing, Phulpanichiga; eight injured

GAURISAGAR, APRIL 30: Thunderstorm lashed on Thursday night and caused damage to houses at Jhanji Phulpanichiga, No 1 and No 2 Charing Baruwati village, Duarahpar, Soribari and Soontalisiga under Amguri Revenue circle of Sivasagar district. The storm also badly damaged shops, hotels, broilers and piggery, vermin compost firm and Charing Soribari LP School building. Hundreds of houses were badly damaged, trees and electric poles were uprooted, disrupting power supply in many villages. A total of seven people in Charing Duarahpar area mely Baishb Bhumij, Sewali Bhumij, Deepali Bhumij, Bi Duarah, Dudu Duarah, Dilip th and Diganta Baurah were injured when they tried to come out of their houses. On the other hand, several residential houses of Ailamukh, Magarahat Changamai gaon, Chetia gaon, Garkakharia, Gohain gaon, Bez Gaon, khan, Jhanji Phulpanichiga, Bamun gaon, Majumelia, Tamulisiga, rakonwer Baillung, Kanshibari and a number of trees were uprooted in the massive storm.
