Street play on affects of drugs staged

Rangia, June 26: The Intertiol Day against Drugs Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed by  Rangia Subdivisiol administration with the help of the District Social Welfare officer on Sunday at Rangia Higher Secondary School. A semir against drug abuse, including street play and procession, was also organized to mark the day. Kailash Karthik N, SDO Civil, Sangeeta Saikia, ADC Kamrup, District Social Welfare Officer Parveen Rahman and Rangia Child Welfare Officer Manjit Das were the guests of the occasion. Dilip Bhattacherjee and Chanda Bania Mahanta, the two activists of an NGO, also spoke on the occasion. They described the ill effects of drugs which destroy the society. They also urged the public to identify the drugs peddlers and hand them over to the police. The procession was iugurated by SDO Civil, Kailash Karthik N. Anganwadi workers and helpers of Bezra, Hajo, Soalkuchi and Hajo staged a street play on effects of drug and remedy. A chorus also sung by Gayatri Kalita and her party.
