Stress laid on awareness among people about ways to lead healthy life

MRUP, April 9: Along with the rest of the world, the harani Block PHC under the guidance and supervision of Dr Biswajit Baruah, SDM and HO, harani BPHC observed World Health Day at harani recently with great enthusiasm. Coinciding with the current year’s theme ‘Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere’, the programme mainly aimed at bringing health awareness and well-being among the masses.
The day-long programme started with the hoisting of flag by Biswjit Baruah, which was followed by smriti tarpan by Moni Manik Gogoi, president, WHD celebration committee and Jiten Borgohain, working president, celebration committee. To mark the occasion, a grand awareness programme was also organized and Dr Jyoti Shyam, Deputy Superintendent, harkatia CHC flagged off the awareness programme.
The open session held on the occasion was conducted by Amiya Borah and presided over by Moni Manik Gogoi. Dr Jenita Baruah, Assistant Professor, AMCH, Dibrugarh, graced the occasion as appointed speaker. Dr Jenita Baruah in her speech dwelt at length on the significance of the day and also urged the doctors and health functiories to rouse awareness among the people about ways to lead a healthy life. A glittering cultural performance along with a quiz competition were also held on the occasion.
