Stress laid on timely completion of PMAY houses

Dibrugarh, April 30: The Dibrugarh District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting took place under the aegis of MP, Rameshwar Teli, at Circuit House on Sunday. The meeting that was organized to review the status of the different developmental plans of all the government departments of the district was graced by several dignitaries, including State Labour and Employment Minister Pallab Lochan Das. Various progressive initiatives that are going on under different schemes, including Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gramin Kaushal Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, were assessed in detail on the occasion.
In the meeting, while stressing timely completion of construction of the houses under PMAY, stringent action was decided to be taken against the persons responsible for non-completion of construction of houses under Indira Awas Yojana. Development of the Education Department was also evaluated, and the MP ordered strict measures to be taken against the authorities of those LP and ME schools where additional classrooms could not be constructed within the stipulated time. Stress was also laid on achieving surplus production of eggs in the villages in order to benefit the villagers economically, and accordingly, the plan of setting up of seven ‘egg villages’ in seven constituencies was given due consideration.
