Stress laid on unification of KSA

HOJAI, Dec 25:  The Diphu Government College Karbi Students’ Convening Committee (DGCKCC) today held a meeting to discuss about the splitting of the Karbi Students Association (KSA). The meeting laid stressed on the unification of the students’ body. The KSA factions said there would be further meeting on the unification issue.

The meeting was held at Rangsi Auditorium Cultural Centre, Lorulangso in Diphu, in which leaders of various factions of KSA expressed their views to fight for statehood jointly.

Formers leaders of KSA also said unless and until all the KSA factions admit that there is affiliation to political parties a progress in the good direction cannot be made.

President of a faction of KSA Mirjeng Kro claimed his factions of KSA has unified with the faction led by Rajen Enghee.

He said, “There were talks on unification before too and these were all failure. There should be a clear understanding on the differences between unification and merger issue”.

Another president of KSA faction Robin Teron said it is matter of concern that there are so many factions of a student’s organization. Teron said, “When I was KSA president in Umrangso, I heard that there were two factions but after coming to Diphu, I came to know that there are many factions. Division among us is a matter of embarrassment for me and I am ready for unification. Let us work together and there will be success definitely.”

Another president of a faction of the KSA Bidya Teron said, “Interference by political parties in KSA cannot be ignored.”
