Strict orders issued to prohibit use and sale of plastic bags in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, January 11: The law relating to the use and sale of plastic bags and polythene under Section 144 of Cr.P.C ,  is set to be put into strict practice, as per the orders of the Dibrugarh Additiol District Magistrate, who had earlier issued prohibition on such practices to be carried out in Dibrugarh, in all the major market areas.

As such for the stringent implementation of the prohibitory orders, under the guidance of the Executive Magistrate, a four-member team has been formed as per the orders of the District Magistrate. The five-member teams have been entrusted with the task of keeping vigilance in the market areas which have been entrusted to them.

Executive Magistrate Shubham Gowala will be supervising the area around Convoy Road, Chowkidighee, and Milan gar; Executive Magistrate Dipu Deka will watch over the areas around Tha Chariali, Amolapatty, and Paltan Bazaar; the areas around New Market, Cole Road and Marwaripatty will be administered by Executive Magistrate Mirza Hussain; the areas of Chiring Chapori, Shantipara and Jhalukpara will be observed by Executive Magistrate Himangshu Choudhury, while Gavarupathar and Graham Bazaar area will be surveyed by Executive Magistrate Tanvi Ahmed. The aforesaid team of five-member groups of Executive Magistrates will be carrying out searches on reports of defying of the prohibitory orders, by any retailer or wholesalers, in the notified market areas, as per the directions of the District Magistrate.
