Strict vigilance in Kokrajhar as Section 144 imposed

KOKRAJHAR, April 28: Checking of vehicles, bikes and other transportation are going on in every road leading to Kokrajhar own after the imposition of section 144 Cr. PC in the district to avoid any untoward incident. The District Magistrate, MP Sharma, by an order, has imposed section 144 Cr. PC in the district since April 19 restricting the gathering of five or more persons, shouting slogans, holding meetings, rallies in public places and taking arms. The order has also restricted pillon ridding in the town. However, children below 12 years of age and persons above 60 years of age, women, defence personnel and magistrates on duty have been exempted from the purview of the order. Talking to this correspondent, the TSI of Kokrajhar, Amin Islam said that checking was being carried out properly in every road leading to Kokrajhar town after section 144 Cr. PC was put into force since April 19.
