Student dies after falling off a train

Itagar, Feb 14: In a shocking incident, a person lost his life when he accidentally fell off a running train.

The victim, Joram Tadir, a BSc agriculture student at Dolpin (PG) College of Science and Agriculture, Chandigarh, fell off the running train at Mazbat in Darang district of Assam at around midnight on February 12.

Tadir’s friend Ajay Som, who was on the same train, blamed the train’s staff and the railway police for his death, accusing them of carelessness and negligence. Som claimed that after he saw Tadir falling, he alerted the train’s staff and the railway police personnel, “but they didn’t stop the train.”

“Had they stopped it, Tadir could have been saved,” Som said.

The deceased’s family members, Nilly L Kamin and Tassar Robin, said they received information about the accident when they arrived at the harlagun railway station in the morning to receive him.

Blaming the railway staff and railway police for Tadir’s death, they have appealed to the governor to direct the railway authorities to institute an inquiry and initiate action against erring officials.

Meanwhile, Joram Tajing father of the deceased has filed an FIR against RPF personnel.
