Students’ body hails Megalaya Cabinet decision

GUWAHATI, May 9: The North East Students’ Organization (NESO) and the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), in a release shared to the media on Wednesday welcomed the Meghalaya cabinet’s decision to say ‘No’ to the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill-2016. The AASU Supremes, president Dipanka Kr Nath and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi said that the State government of Assam who came to power promising to protect the interest of the indigenous people should also resolve similar stand following the Meghalaya cabinet.
