Dibrugarh, Feb 13: The first day of spring , which is revered as Vasant Panchami or Saraswati Puja, was celebrated here by all the educatiol and fincial institutions, where students and devotees offered their prayers to the Goddess of knowledge, wisdom, culture and art, asking for her blessings.
Students visited their respective schools and colleges to offer their prayers and to take Goddess Saraswati ‘s blessings for future educatiol and career pursuits. The fincial institutions like banks also celebrated the day in their institutiol premises where the devotees gathered to offer their prayers.
Some of the institutions also offer prasad and khichdi to the students and devotees who visit the puja pandals.
The students of Surajmal Jalan Balika Shiksha Sadan worshipped the Goddess by holding an exhibition on the theme of Beti Bachao, apart from other instructive theme-based programmes on smart villages.
Goddess Saraswati was also worshipped by the students of Dibrugarh Bengali High School and Khalihamari Bangla Primary , a Saraswati banda was organized at the school premises in presence of the teachers and students of the school where the Goddess of learning was offered prayers to seek her blessings.
DEMOW: Saraswati Puja was celebrated in Demow and its surroundings areas on Saturday. Devotees invoked divine blessings for improving learning and honing skills. Students prayed before the Goddess. Later, young boys and girls came out on the streets to celebrate Saraswati Puja with fanfare.
JORHAT: Along with the rest of the country Jorhat also celebrated Sri-Sri Swraswati puja. Assam Agriculture University, Jorhat Medical College, Jorhat Engineering College celebrated puja with devotion and fanfare. Students wearing traditiol Mekhela-Sadar participated in the puja. Jorhat Bar Association also celebrated Sri-Sri Swaraswati puja with day long programme at Bar association campus. A colorful cultural programme held on occasion, various artistes singing song in the programme.
