Dibrugarh: “With the advent of the age of information, the entire world has got reduced to one single village,” remarked MLA of Lahoal, Rituparna Baruah, in his speech during the fresher’s social event of MDK Girls’ College held recently.

Terming it to be the positive side of Information Age, he cautioned every one of its flip side as well. However, Baruah, gracing the occasion as its honourable guest, advised the new batch of students as well as others to pick from its positive dimension, and thrust their way forward in today’s competitive age.

Organized by the Students’ Unity Meeting of the college, the event was also graced by noted novelist and litterateur Juri Borgohain, who was the chief guest on the occasion.

In his speech, Principal of MDK Girls’ College, Dr. Dilip Kumar Bhuyan, welcomed the new batch of students and told them to use all the available facilities given by the college to their advantage. He, on behalf of the college, also felicitated the topper of Bachelor of Arts, 2018 under Dibrugarh University, Ananya Bhuyan, who was a student of MDK Girls’ College. Bhuyan was also feted by a few teachers for bringing laurels to the college. The presence of several dignitaries, including the Principal of Tengakhat College as well as UGC member, Dr. Kiran Hazarika lent the event a further appeal.
