Dhekiajuli, April 16: A sub-centre of the power department was officially inaugurated in Sirajuli near Dhekiajuli by State Power Minister Pallab Lochan Das recently. A ceremonial inaugural function was held to inaugurate the sub-centre of the power department. In his inaugural function, the Power Minister said that his department was working continuously for the last few months to supply electricity to the consumers round-the-clock. He said that existing bamboo pillars in different parts of the State would be replaced with concrete pillar within a very short period.
Previously, the power supply for the Dhekiajuli area was carried out from Rowta Chariali of Udalguri district and Dipota under Sonitpur district. But from now the power supply for Dhekiajuli area will be from the Sirajuli sub-centre. This project was sanctioned by the previous Congress government and the project cost Rs 23 crore.
