Sub Inspector of Paltan Bazaar Police Station Arrested for Accepting Bribe in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Aug 7: Sub Inspector of Police Biren Kumar Bora of Paltan Bazar police station was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 20,000 from one person identified as Jayant Das in the bar of Hotel Victoria at Paltan Bazar in Guwahati on Tuesday night.

The amount of bribe was in connection with granting bail for Das. Following demand of cash by the Sub Inspector, Das informed the ACB that laid a dragnet and trapped the Sub Inspector tonight.

It may be mentioned that a thorough and elaborate investigation has been initiated for Bora.
