MARGHERITA, March 14: Activists of Asom Ga Parishad (AGP) Margherita District Committee burnt the effigy of BJP leader Subramaniam Swamy on Saturday at Margherita Segunbari Tiniali.
Subramanium Swam,y who came to Guwahati on Saturday for a meeting, made commul comments against the people of Assam. reshwer Hazarika, AGP Margherita District Committee president, said that if BJP leaders continued giving these type of speeches then the greater Assamese society would launch a mass movement.
Activists of Asom Mahila Parishad and Asom Yuva Parishad, Margherita District Committee were present during the effigy burning. AGP senior leaders of Margherita, Diganta Saikia, Puran Chetry, Md Uzair Khan, Anita Das Mahanta, Jyotish Sundas and 50 members of AGP were also present.
