Sumanta Jha Hits Ton For Tezpur In Nuruddin Inter District Cricket Tournament

GUWAHATI: Rode on a good knock from Sumanta Jha (108, 102B, 4×9, 6×7), Tezpur scored 276 before bowled out in the first innings against Guwahati in the quarter final league game in Nuruddin Inter District Cricket tournament match held at the Judges ground here today.

Electing to bat, two batsmen of the team Sumanta Jha and Roshan Basfore (80, 118B, 4×8, 6×2), played good knocks but they didn’t get too much support from the other batsmen which helped Guwahati to bowl out their opponent 276 runs in the first innings. Riyan Parag (5-55) came out with best figure among the bowlers of Guwahati.

Later host, in reply, scored 135-2 in the first innings at stumps on day I. Rahul Hazarika remained not out on 69.

At Biswanath Chariali host chasing NF Railway’s first innings total 191-8 (dec) were bowled out paltry 86 runs in the first innings thanks to nice spells from Dipak Gohain (5-48) and Abhilash Gogoi (4-22).

At Nagon host were 110-4 in their first innings in reply to Silchar’s first innings total 199. Mrinmoy Dutta (Sr) of host team bagged 7/44 in the first innings.
