Sunil Rai takes over as VC of Kaziranga University

JORHAT, July 5: Dr. Sunil Rai has officially joined as the next Vice-Chancellor of the Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat, Assamon July 1, 2015. He succeedsthe former Vice-Chancellor, V. M. Salokhewho retired from the role a day earlier on June 30, stated a press release

Dr. Sunil Rai is a Ph.D. (BITS Pilani), M.Tech (IIT Mumbai) and MBA (IGNOU New Delhi). He has been an officer in Indian vy and is an alumnus of renowned institutions like IIT, Bombay; BITS, Pilani, JNU, Delhi; INS ShivajiLovla Pune and IGNOU, Delhi.

He has served as a commissioned officer, Indian vy (Commander, Retd.) for over two decades. Dr. Rai has served on Governing Boards/Councils of large academic institutions and central MHRD & State (Goa) Government bodies as Director/advisor for over 7 years.

He has successfully led highly acclaimed academic institutions like NIIT University, Goa Institute of Magement, SP Jain Institute of Magement & Research, NMIMS University & Mumbai Business School in various capacities like Pro Vice-Chancellor, Director/Joint Director and Dean for over 10 years

Dr. Rai is the recipient of a Commendation by the Chief of val Staff for rendering excellent service in computerizing activities of val Dockyard Mumbai (1989); Best faculty award at SPJIMR (2003, 2004 & 2005) & Mumbai Business School (2010) and acknowledgement of contribution in promoting research by Yale Foundation at Great Lakes Institute of Magement (2009) and many others. He is also a renowned intertiol magement consultant and advisor to top academic institutions and corporate across the globe.
