Sushma Swaraj calls the news of her appointment as Andhra governor false

New Delhi: The latest rumour centring Sushma Swaraj that she has been appointed as Andhra Pradesh Governor has been negated by the lady herself. The former external affairs minister of Modi government’s first term has made it very clear that she has not been appointed in ay position as is said by the rumour and the news is very much false.

The senior BJP leader came to be acquainted with the fake news when Union minister Harsh Vardhan took to congratulate her through a tweet. Stunned and surprised to know about the rumour, Swaraj tweeted, "The news about my appointment as Governor of Andhra Pradesh is not true."

When a Union minister himself can be fooled by a rumour then it can very well be speculated as to how strongly the rumour was circulating about her appointment.

Swaraj further added, "I called on the Vice President of India Shri Venkaiah Naidu ji on demitting office as Minister of External affairs. This was enough for Twitter to appoint me as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh."

A Home Ministry spokesperson also denied the reports and this rightly makes no sense of the fake news as it is the Home Ministry who is the nodal authority for affairs related to Governors and Lieutenant Governors of states and Union territories.

Earlier, the tweet that made Swaraj aware of the fake news was that of Dr Harsh Vardhan who had said, "Congratulations to senior BJP leader & former External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj ji on being appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh."

But as soon as the lady denied the news, Harsh Vardhan deleted his tweet later.

In her political career, Sushma Swaraj has the fame of receiving the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award, she is the youngest cabinet minister in the Haryana government and also was the first woman chief minister of Delhi. With a law graduation degree, she has experiences of practising in the Supreme Court as well.
