Suspected DHD (A) rebel held

Kheroni, May 21: In yet another gallant effort by the Assam Rifles towards bringing peace and normalcy in the region, a joint team of 38 Assam Rifles and Assam Police launched a successful operation in Raisodisa village near Diyungmukh in Dima Hasao district on Friday and apprehended a suspected DHD (A) extremist identified as Jontu Das. The successful operation was executed just within 48 hours after a team of 38 Assam Rifles had apprehended three extremists identified as Amit Johori alias Langpod (27), Debojit Nunisa (20) and Dimon Kharikapsa (22) from the same area on May 18 It is reported that intelligence from the previous operation led to the capture of the suspected extremist yesterday who was caught with a rifle and live rounds. Reportedly, the extremist confessed to being involved in multiple extortion activities in the last few months.
