Suspected drug smuggler held

BONGAIGAON, May 6: A joint team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP today bbed a suspected drug smuggler at New Bongaigaon Railway Junction with some drugs. The detained youth has been identified as Hridayanda pathak (32), son of late Arabindo Pathak, a resident of Ward No 5 in Barpeta town.

GRP official said arrested Pathak came to New Bongaigaon by Down Erkulam Express train at around 10-30 am. “The mobile patrolling team of GRP and RPF first searched him in the train and found the tablets in his bag,” the official said. A total of 47 tablets were found on him.

Pathak said that he kept tablets in his bag for consuming.
