Suspected NSCN linkman held, pistol recovered

JOYSAGAR, Feb 20: Indian Army camping in Maibela of Sori subdivision on Sunday conducted an operation against terrorists and bbed a suspected NSCN linkman. He was identified as Tingkhat Konyak of Mon district of galand.

After receiving information, the Army went to a remote place under Sori PS and bbed the accused. Army sources revealed that Tingkhat was involved in the IED blast incident which took place in Sori town on January 26 this year. Army officers are interrogating the accused to find more information.

On the other hand, a 9-mm pistol was recovered by the Army and Assam Police team on Sunday from Bhalukoni Gaon under Kakotibari PS of Charaidew district. A villager Diganta Konwar found the pistol in his paddy field and quickly informed the police.
