Suspected ULFA(I) cadres open fire on Five at Dhola in Tinsukia

Tinsukia/Guwahati: Sensation triggers in Dhola Kherbari area under Tinsukia district after few suspected ULFA(I) cadres opened fired upon five Bengali people a few hours back in the evening today.

As per the report, a five-six suspected ULFA(I) cadres who were seen in Army camouflage outfits dropped down to a nearby shop in the Kherbari area and picked them up to the chor-areas and opened fired at them from the point blank range.

Highly-placed sources informed that five out of seven people died on the spot. Two of them have left with severe injuries and have been rushed to nearby hospital.

The deceased people were identified as Shymal Biswas, Subul Biswas, Anath Biswas, Dhananjay Namasudra, Avinash Biswas.

Meanwhile, Assam Police along with security forces had gheraoed the area and keeping a strict vigilance in the area.

Update: CM Sarabananda Sonowal condemning the incident ordered Minister Keshab Mahanta, Minister Tapan Gogoi, DGP Kuladhar Saikia and ADGP Mukesh Agarwalla to rush to the spot and take immediate measures.

Condemning the incident, All Assam Bengali Students' Union called for 12 hours Tinsukia District Bandh on Friday.
