Suspected ULFA(I) linkman held

MAHMORA , March 10: Police on Monday night arrested a linkman of the United Liberation Front of Asom- Independent (ULFA-I) from Sori in Sivasagar district in connection with the blast at Chepon on February  13. The arrested ULFA (I) linkman has been identified as Dharmadev Gosai. Police sources said that acting on a tip off , a joint team of Moranhat police and Sori police led by Sivasagar Additiol Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jayanta Sarathi Borah launched operation and arrested Gosai from his residence at  Ward No-1 in Sori  of Sivasagar district. Police sources  said that Gosai brought the  grede used in Chepon blast in his Tata Indica vehicle from galand and handed it over to Bolin Baruah, a hardcore ULFA (I) cadre. It may be mentioned that suspected ULFA (I) cadre carried out a grede blast on February 13 at around 8.45 am in front of the house of Biren Kumar Agarwala  where two persons, identified as Tisu Agarwala (38) and Dimbeswar Bhuyan (50) were killed. Accused Das on Monday was produced in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court which sent him to five-day police custody.
