Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Hahim

Mirza, March 13: As part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Indian Army’s Red Horns Division under its ‘Operation Sadbhava’ constructed four toilets at Hahim Girls School, Madhuki High School, Kulsi PHC and Rajapara PHC of south Kamrup.

All the toilets have been constructed in remote areas where the most neglected strata of society are living and improper sanitation poses danger to public health.

Such projects will help elimite open defecation and bring about behavioural change in people regarding healthy sanitation practices and support rural local bodies in improving public health. “This will also deepen ties between the men in uniform and local population and there will be better understanding between the two,” said an army colonel.
