Syria Beat North Korea 5-2 In Intercontinental Cup Football Tournament

AHMEDABAD: Shadi Hamwi and Mohammad scored a brace each as Syria came from a goal down to outplay North Korea 5-2 in their opening match of the Intercontinental Cup football tournament on Monday night.

Hamwi scored in the 41st and 61st minutes, while Mohammad found the net in the 56th and 61st minutes for the winners, after North Korea took the lead as early as in the third minute through Jong.

Syria will play Tajikistan in their next match on Wednesday, while North Korea will be up against hosts India on Saturday. IANS
