Tablet computers distributed to primary school teachers

MANGALDAI, April 20: With a novel aim to help in smooth day-to-day management of the primary schools of the State, the State Education Department initiated a new project under the name and style of ‘Teacher Support and Attendance Monitoring Project’ to monitor the attendance of the teachers.

 As a part of this project, the education department on Thursday distributed tablet computers to a number of primary teachers under Sipajhar Education Block in Darrang district. Taking part in the inaugural function of this project organized at the office of Sipajhar Education Block, Executive Director of SSA-cum- Joint Secretary of Elementary Education department, Dhruba Jyoti Das ceremonially distributed the tablet computers. Addressing the function, Dhruba Jyoti Das said that the successful implementation of this project would reduce the official workload of the teachers which would also enable them to concentrate more in the classrooms. Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum- District Mission Coordinator of SSA, Darrang, Kalpana Deka hoped that this project would give a new light to the elementary education sector of the district and appealed to all concerned to extend cooperation to make this project a successful one.

 Using a specially designed application in the tablet computers, the preservation of the service-related documents of teachers, detailed information of the students, availability of teaching materials, official correspondence, monitoring of the daily attendance of teachers, submission of detailed information on mid-day meal can be managed and monitored from the respective schools.
