Tablet PCs distributed among students in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, May 5: A ceremonial distribution of tablets under the Chief Minister’s Special Award to the students who secured 50 per cent to 59.9 per cent in the HSLC examition, 2014 was held at Basic Training Centre on Tuesday. The programme was organized jointly by the district administration and AMTRON.

Senior Additiol Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar PK Bhagawati formally gave away the tablet PCs to the students in presence of Inspector of Schools, Kokrajhar RK Choudhury and other dignitaries. The key note address was given by ADC Niranjan Baruah. As many as 468 students under Kokrajhar subdivision received the tablet PCs.

Bhagawati said that the literacy rate in Kokrajhar was only 64 per cent. Students and guardian should seek qualitative education, he said and added that the education was the only key to development of society. He also called upon the students to put the tablets to good use.
