Talk on no materials and plasma held in SS College

Silchar, March 20: Under Government of India sponsored Star College Scheme Project,  the department of Physics of  S S College, Hailakandi has organised a two day invited talk programme on no materials and plasma and another two day hands on training programme on basic electronics held recently in the college presmises.

As part of the invited talk programme, two eminent scholars Dr. Ratan Das, Assistant Professor from Tripura University delivered his lecture on no materials and no technology on March 14, while Dr. Apratim g, Assistant Professor of G.C. College delivered lecture on Plasma- the fourth state of matter on March 18.

A hand on training programme was also organised by the Department of Physics on basic electronics on March 18 and 19. The eminent teacher of Assam University, Swardeep Biswas acted as the resource person cum chief instructor in this training programme. Biswas showed the usefulness of bread board among all the students of the department. This hand on training programme was the first such programme among all the other science colleges of the valley.   The students of various departments are certainly benefited from both the programme. The certificate has been distributed among the students by the Principal of the college Dr. A. K. Das, DBT coorditor Dr. Rupam Sen, Head of the Physics department  Dr. S.G. Roy,  and other two senior  teachers of the department,  Dr. A. Kalyan and B. Mira and the resource  person S. Biswas this evening in the college premises.
