Task force formed to control illegal coal trade

JORHAT, Feb 2: The Jorhat district administration formed a task force on Thursday to control the illegal coal trade in Jorhat district.  Deputy Commissioner of Jorhat, Virendra Mittal said, “We want to stop illegal coal trade from galand through Jorhat and have taken up some measures for this. We have formed a task force with representatives of various government departments to control the illegal coal trade here.”  The Jorhat district administration formed the task force with officials of Police, Taxes, Transport and forest to impose restriction on coal trade in the district. They have been directed to take up drive against illegal coal traders and coal stocks in the district and to take immediate legal action against them.
