Tea Board of India vice-chairman felicitated

Golaghat, Feb  14:  The newly- appointed vice-chairman of Tea Board of India, Bidyanda Barkakoty was given a warm felicitation in Golaghat by the United Chambers of Commerce, Golaghat. A special felicitation programme was organized at the office of the United Chambers of Commerce recently where Bidyanda Barkakoty was felicitated. In the felicitation programme, United Chambers of Commerce president Apurba Ballav Goswami said that it was a proud moment for Golaghat and its people that a Golaghatian had been elected and appointed to such a high post and now the people of Golaghat and Assam had lots of expectation from him.

The programme was conducted by the general secretary of United Chambers of Commerce, Dip Kalita where officials of North Eastern Tea Association were also present. Bidyanda Barkakoty assured that he would perform his duty with full dedication and responsibility. He had made some plans to develop and to make the tea sector of Assam world famous. He added that his focus would be on creative and concrete development for high quality production of tea in the region and he would raise a demand before the Central Government for recognizing tea as the tiol drink of India.
