Tea community convention begins

DULIAJAN, MARCH 27: The three-day Jatiya Abhibortan and Sanskirtik Samarooh began here today. The convention is being held under the aegis of Asom Chah Jagusthi Jatiya Mahasabha (ACJJM) at the premises of Duliajan Bihutoli. It will conclude on March 29.

As part of the iugural programme, a cleanliness drive was launched in the nearby areas of Duliajan in which Dibrugarh MP Rameswar Teli and Bansilal Sahu, eminent social activist, and others took part.

The ACJJM’s flag was hoisted by its president Teras Guwala. The cultural programme flag was iugurated by Dileswar Tanti, president of organizing committee. A plantation programme was iugurated by Rajen Gogoi, working president of the organizing committee.

In the afternoon, the first session of the convention was held. The session was conducted by Shimanchal Digal, a former leader of AATTSA. Chandan Sarmah, Professor of Dibrugarh University, and Baldev Teli, president of Chah Jagusthi Surakshya Samity took part in the session.
