GOLAGHAT , May 8: Mohanlal Jalan, a noted tea planter, social activist and an actor passed away on Wednesday here due to old age ailments. According to family sources, Jalan was undergoing treatment in a private hospital at Jaipur in Rajasthan. He was 81. The planter, born on September 8, 1934, is survived by his wife and four kids. Several organizations and political parties including North East Tea Association (NETA) , AGP, BJP , Golaghat press club and Golaghat Jourlists’ Union have condoled the demise of Jalan.
