Tea workers’ union to hold 60th bi-annual convention

TINSUKIA, Feb 27: “It is only trade unions that can save society from exploitation and deprivation,” said Girish Chandra Borpatra Gohain, veteran labour leader and general secretary of Asom Chah Karmachari Sangha, while speaking at a public meeting on Sunday, organized under the aegis of Panitola branch to constitute the reception committee for the 60th central bi-annual convention to be held sometime in April-May, 2018.

The meeting held with Dr Bhuban Gogoi, Principal of Tinsukia College, in the chair, constituted a strong reception committee with Dr Bhuban Gogoi as president and Baikunta Kumar Gohain as working president. Malbhog Baruah was selected as general secretary, Rabindra th Saikia and Dhruba Jyoti Saikia as joint secretaries, Baikuntha th Sarma, Amulya Khatoniar and Amrit Sarma as treasurer, souvenir secretary and publicity secretary respectively.
