Teeged girl found dead in mysterious circumstances

Guwahati, March 6: A teeged girl was found hanging from the ceiling of her house in Diju area of North Lakhimpur district last afternoon.  Lakhimpur SP Brojen Sinha confirmed that the girl, studying in class X, was found hanging from the ceiling of her house last afternoon. The body was retrieved by the police and has been sent for post-mortem examition.  “There is no apparent homicide sign of injury on the body or marks of rape. But we are enquiring all angles and the cause of death or if any rape had happened prior to it, will be known after the inquest,” Mr Sinha said. Report of a boy visiting the victim before her death has been received by the police and all details were being probed. “It is too early to say if it was a case of suicide or homicide,” the SP added.
