TET qualified candidates seek appointment

SILCHAR, Aug 18: Elementary TET Qualified Teachers’ Association submitted a memorandum here today to the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar urging him to look into a number of pending issues including employment of all TET qualified candidates, completion of admission process of diploma in elementary education (D.El.Ed) course among others. It was stated in the memorandum that the authorities concerned should release an error free fil selection list for filling up 5736 number of vacant posts by August 21.

 The members requested the higher authorities concerned to solve the matter of reservation in case of TET qualified candidates belonging to OBC and MOBC communities as soon as possible. The members also demanded introduction of ‘one rank one salary’ scheme for TET qualified contractual teachers and an increment of basic salary from Rs.5200 to Rs.5830 for them. The memorandum also asked for an assurance by the administration regarding continuation of their services up to the age of 60 years.

 The Association requested the authorities to complete the admission procedure for enrollment in D.El.Ed course for TET teachers by August 25. It is to be mentioned that a substantial section of teachers in lower primary and upper primary level in Assam are untrained. To train them in modern teaching pedagogy the government has initiated the course which is of 2 years duration and only TET qualified candidates are entitled to undergo this training.

 The members urged upon the Deputy Commissioner to look into the issues and take positive actions for providing relief to the aggrieved TET qualified candidates. The memorandum was signed by Abdul Hussain Laskar, vice president, Sandip Deb Choudhury, general secretary of the Association among others.
