Tezpur AASU unit organizes Bihu programme

Tezpur, April 16: Like in the previous years, Tezpur AASU conducted a workshop at Swahid Bakori premises for a month of Bihu dance, dhol badon, khul badon and bhur taal for a month from March 14 to April 14 and in continuation, Tezpur Ancholik Unit of AASU organized a colourful Bihu programme in a befitting manner on Saturday at Swahid Bakori, Mazgaon, Tezpur.

The programme started with hoisting of the AASU flag by Arup Ghosh, president of Tezpur Ancholik unit of AASU. Homage was paid by Arup Talukdar and Arindam Bhardwaj, joint general secretaries, Tezpur Ancholik unit of AASU to the patriots who had sacrificed their lives. In order to give due recognition, Tezpur Ancholik unit of AASU had also taken a venture for felicitation of eminent persolities who had contributed immensely in the field of literature and  brought glory for Assam - Gita Upadhaya, Gyan Pujari and  Gyan Bahadur Chetry, Sahitya Akademi Award winners.

In the evening a vibrant cultural programme was  iugurated by Dul Dul Borkotaki, assistant general secretary, AASU. The highlight of the function was the student community taking blessings from elders, which was conducted by the Tezpur Ancholik unit of AASU. The graceful Bihu programme was attended by Mani Madhab Mahanta, vice-president of AASU, Abhijit th and Nitul Borah, president and secretary of Sonitpur district of AASU.
